Formal Parallelism

One idea, thought, sentence, and, thus, one statement in meter.
The couplet forms a complete sentence, idea, or thought without parallelism.

  Examples

  Proverbs 25:18
Like a club and a sword and a sharp arrow
Is a man who bears false witness against his neighbor.

  Psalm 52:4
You love all words that devour,
     O deceitful tongue.

[all of the above is a direct quote from Module 7, BE 101, Parallelism Handout, 4]
